Pest Animal Workshop

On 6 September we held our Pest Animal Workshop. Steve Thompson, Greater Wellington Biosecurity Team, kindly shared his knowledge on different methods for dealing with a variety of pest animals. Predator Free 2050 is particularly focused on the top 5 predators of native wildlife – rats, stoats, weasels, ferrets and possums but we also learned more about some of the other pest animals found around Pāuatahanui. As well as an opportunity to gather information, there were some very lucky attendees who were recipients of the traps that Steve was giving away at the workshop - a real bonus!!

Here are the notes from Steve’s presentation, an information sheet on identifying pest animals by their scats/droppings and GW’s price list of pest animal control products.
